Some of the companies presenting are:

Company A is a software-as-a-service (SaaS) solution delivering business management automation specifically for health & fitness professionals. With significant market research, a small customer base already deployed in Australia, government funding and world-class advisors established locally & in the United States, the opportunity to grow the company to a leading service provider is present. Within 3-5 years, the company will have a strong annuity revenue base and become an attractive acquisition target.  Capital is now required to drive customer sign ups and to establish a beach head in the US market, where there are over 220,000 sports trainers alone.

Company B is an innovative developer, manufacturer and marketer of uncompressed serial digital interface (SDI) video I/O cards for use in the professional video $10B broadcast and post production industries.  The company has been trading for over 10 years with an established client base in overseas markets. Their video cards have been successfully used in "mission critical" environments requiring broadcast IT solutions to work 24/7. Clients include, NBC and NASA (US), BBC (UK) and FIFA (Europe).  After 8 years of R&D, Company C is now seeking external investment to fully release their two exciting new products that provide customers with unparalleled workflow flexibility utilizing the highest quality hardware scaling.

Company C is commercialising a patented revolutionary Concentrated Photovoltaic (CPV) solar solution, the that has the potential to produce solar power at half the cost of conventional solar technology right now and under USD 70 cents per Watt (e.g. under 4 cents per kW hour) in the short to medium term.  Targeted at hydroelectricity installations, it can double or triple their potential revenue.  The company has successfully completed proof of concept, encompassing design and prototype development; and market feasibility has been established.  Development of full scale pre-production prototypes and rafting systems for a testing has commenced.  Test sites are being negotiated with a large India industrial group, which would open the door to potentially over $500m in revenue within India alone.  The company needs further capital to continue down this commercialisation path.

Company D freely distributes ad supported high quality videos in the download to desktop market, providing an answer to the global piracy problem.  Downloading content is as simple as clicking on link, and once downloaded, double clicking on the file to commence viewing.  The patented technology is being trialled by both Unison Pictures in the US, RAI Television in Italy and currently being negotiated with Telecinco in Spain.   Company D is taking advantage of the online video advertising market, which is running at $700m and growing at over 30% year on year.  The company is seeking capital to enhance the product and to support commercialisation efforts through its international distributors.

"Company X has developed an instant, “click-to-connect” video-based internet to telephony solution. Its key competitive advantage is its capacity to seamlessly integrate with existing telephony infrastructure, particularly within call centres. It offers fast download, via flash, and has the capacity to eliminate 1800 AND 1300  call costs in a call centre environment. These features allow this solution to offer a “virtual” retail experience, via “instant” web-based video interaction.  Target markets include call centres, online retailers and service orientated companies/website owners, as well as online directories. All are seeking to increase revenues, improve customer service and online conversion, while also reducing costs.  Other drivers of demand include the benefits of visual interaction, the increasing need to offer differentiators in commoditised markets and increased penetration of broadband and video-enabled devices".

Company F dramatically re-invents the local video store, whereby store shelves are removed and customers browse and book via the store's web catalogue in-store or at-home. This results in a store that is 20% the size of a traditional video shop. With a unique offline/online model, Company F aims to open additional stores and build its membership more rapidly than possible with a purely Video On Demand initiative.  Recognised as an Anthill 'Smart 100 Company', their award winning first store in Melbourne has been trading for 20 months and operates in under 35 sqm of space. It currently holds over 8,000 DVDs, which is the same amount held by a standard 200 sqm video store.  Over 3,000 members have joined with a steady flow of new members being added each week.  With local stores and a strong online presence, Company F has enormous brand potential and is ready to grow.

Company G offers a next generation, high definition digital signage management solution. Its unique product suite, incorporating breakthrough technology, offers significant competitive advantages over other alternatives. It also meets specific, largely unaddressed market needs for higher quality content at a lower cost, as well as more flexible display alternatives and system configurations.  In doing so, it allows network owners and advertisers to maximize the significant benefits offered by this exciting and growing new medium. Company G is at early expansion stage of its commercialization, having successfully launched its solution to the market and commenced generating revenue from agreements signed with initial clients, including a major car company. While still in a relatively early stage of its development, it generated revenue of $900K+ in FY08.
